Green Freight India Seminar
Date: 9 January 2012 - 9 January 2012
Location: New Delhi, India
Description
The Green Freight India seminar is jointly organised by the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia) India Office and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM)
The objective of the seminar is to make all the freight stakeholders in India aware about the best practices involved in improving fuel efficiency and thereby reduce emissions from freight, about international best practices, and discuss next steps for the development of green freight in India.
The broader aim is to establish a ‘Green Freight Partnership’ of private and public sector and other stakeholders organizations to augment the efforts to establish a Green Freight India Program that will cover clean technologies, logistics solutions, financial mechanisms and other policy measures. It is essential that practical knowledge and experience from private enterprises be captured while developing such a program for India.
